Essay Writing Competition:
Essay writing competition was conducted on Monday, 25th October 2021
at 1100 Hrs in Satish Dhawan Auditorium, URSC. The topic given on
the spot was'Building our Nation- Sardar Patel's Contributions'.
Employees were allowed to write the essay in three languages viz
Kannada, Hindi & English not exceeding 250 words. Total 58
employees pre-registered for the event. The time duration of 50
minutes was provided for employees to complete the essay.
The participants of the essay writing had captured and brought out
many significant contributions of SardarVallabhai Patel for the
independent India after Independence from British. The committee
reviewed and the best three essays were selected in each language
and were awarded the prizes.
Slogan Writing Competition:
Slogan writing competition was held in both offline and on the spot
mode.
The offline mode of competition was named as 'Raise your Slogan'. A
Total of 23 participants registered for the event. Out of which, 19
participants had sent the slogans through email. The theme for the
event was National Unity & Integrity.
On the spot event of slogan writing competition was conducted on
26th October 2021 in Satish Dhawan Auditorium, URSC. The topic given
on the spot was "Patriotism, National Unity & National
Integration". Total 34 participants pre-registered for the event.
Participants had written the slogans in Hindi & English
language.
The slogans were highly creative and patriotic. The slogans were
used during ParbhatPeri, PadaYatra and Cycling event which was
conducted on 31st October 2021.Three best slogans in each language
was selected and winning prizes were awarded for both offline and on
the spot event participants.
The entire event was well organized in a very able way. The event
also paved way for many participants to kindle their creativity thus
making the entire programme a successful event.
Quiz-2021 (29th October, 2021):
A Quiz competition was conducted for employees of URSC as a part of
the RashtriyaEktaDiwas converging with the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav
celebrations. It was a team event with two employees per team.
The quiz was conducted in two stages - a preliminary stage held on
27th October 2021 and the final stage was held on 29th October 2021.
The quiz covered the topics of pre-independence India and progress
in post-independence India, particularly in the area of science and
technology.
The preliminary stage of the quiz was a written test conducted
online using customized software. A total of 85 teams registered for
the preliminary stage, from which 70 teams took part in the written
test. The test consisted of 25 multiple choice questions to be
answered within 20 minutes. The questions were served randomly to
each team from a question bank of 100 questions. The performance of
the teams was beyond expectations, with the top 5 teams scoring
above 90%. Out of the 70 entries, the top 6 teams were selected for
the finale.
The final stage of the quiz was held on 29thOctober 2021 at Satish
DhawanAuditoriumat URSC. The quiz started off with the
administration of the unity pledge by Dr.Alok Shrivastava, DD-MSA
and Chairman, Organizing Committee for Azadi KaAmritMahotsav
celebrations.
The final stage consisted of six rounds with 6 questionseach - two
General Rounds, one Audio Visual Round, one Connect Round and one
Target Round.
- The General Rounds had questions covering the entire gamut of
topics. It was a warm up round for the contestants to get used
to the final stage.
- The Audio Visual Round had speeches, poem recitals and famous
movie scenes connected to independence movement as questions.
- Each questions of the Connect Round had three
pictures/clues connected to a common element and the contestants
had to guess the connection.
- The Target Round, also called Duck Hunt Roundwas an innovative
one involving one team targeting another team of their choice
with a question. If it is unanswered by the targeted team, the
question would pass back to the targeting team. The team(s) not
answering the question was given negative points as penalty.
- At the end of each of the first five rounds, there were direct
questions to the audience, apart from the questions that were
passed on when unanswered by the contestants. First person to
answer the question was given a small prize. At the end of
the quiz, ten prize winners were called to the stage for a
special audience round. The winner of this audience round was
given a special prize.
The six rounds of the quiz saw intense competition among the teams.
Top Four teams were awarded prizes including a consolation prize.
Director, URSC gave away the prizes to the winners. Overall,
the quiz was very well received, with the participants and the
audience thoroughly enjoying it.
