World Space Week-2020 Events

Drawing Competition:

The competition aims at bringing out the imagination and creativity of children as they express their ideas through art and colour. Topics will be related to Space and Space technology.


Children can participate in three categories:

Group A: Std 1-4
Group B: Std 5-7
Group C: Std: 8-10

Instructions:
  • Registration closed
  • Drawing should be made only on A3 size white paper.
  • Colouring can be done with crayons, colour pencils or water paints.
  • Topic will be announced at 9.30 AM on the day of the competition.
  • A clear photograph of the drawing to be uploaded in JPG/PDF format in the website before 13:00Hrs.
  • Maximum limit of the file size is 3 MB.
  • Registration number to be mentioned at the top right hand corner of the drawing.
  • In each category, the first three winners will be awarded prizes.

Time: 10:00 Hrs – 12:00 Hrs

Online Lecture and Interactive Session:

A talk by URSC scientists covering aspects of satellite technology, its applications and space sciences is arranged. This is followed by interactive sessions:

  • Two students shall be nominated from each school.
  • Registered students will be confirmed of their participation through email.
  • Registration details may be found in the URSC website.


Event Date: Oct 7, 2020
Time: 14:00 Hrs – 16:00 Hrs

Science in Action :

An interesting event for students to learn about concepts and fundamentals of Science and how it is used for space science. Simple science experiments will be shown for which students need to write the scientific principle involved or provide reason for the outcome of the experiment.


Who can attend: Std 8-10

Instructions
  • Registration closed
  • Registration is on first-come-first serve basis.
  • One student shall be nominated from each school.
  • Registered students will be confirmed of their participation through email.
  • Participants have to write the answer in – Kannada or Hindi or English in own hand writing with blue or black ball/ink pen on A4 paper immediately after each experiment. 5 minutes will be provided for writing answer.
  • Any type or copied text will be eligible for rejection.
  • The answers shall be justified briefly with scientific reasons.
  • Participant shall write their registration number on right hand top corner of each page.
  • Participant shall take a photo of the answer sheet and upload in website in JPG/PDF format within 45 minutes of completion of event. The maximum limit for the file size is 3 MB.
