National Science Day: Overview

While trying to answer a simple question on "why the sky is blue?", Prof C V Raman, 86 years back, on February 28, 1928 discovered the concept of non-elastic scattering known as "Raman Effect". To celebrate this discovery and to create scientific awareness among the school children, National Science Day (NSD) is celebrated every year on February 28, at URSC. Various events are organised during the NSD for the school students which are aimed to infuse the spirit of scientific reasoning in the young minds.
