World Space Week-2021 Events

1. Drawing Competition:

The competition aims at bringing out the imagination and creativity of children as they express their ideas through art and color. Topics will be related to Space and Space technology.

Children can participate in three categories:

Group A: Std 1-4
Group B: Std 5-7
Group C: Std 8-10

  • Competition completed
  • 2 Students per Category per School can participate in this event.
  • Only Registration Number should be written at the top right hand corner of the drawing. No other information about participant should be mentioned.
  • Drawing should be made only on A4 size white paper.
  • Coloring can be done with crayons, color pencils or water paints.
  • Topic will be announced at 9.30 AM on the day of the competition.
  • A clear photograph of the drawing to be uploaded in JPG format in the website before 15:00Hrs.
  • Maximum limit of the file size is 3 MB.
Competition Date: Oct 04, 2021
Time: 09:30 Hrs - 15:00 Hrs

(Time to submit entries extended upto 3.00 P.M. to give students an opportunity to witness the Inauguration Ceremony, which is planned at 9.30A.M.-11.00 A.M. on October 4, 2021).

2. Picture Perception & Creative Writing:

Who can attend:
Students can participate in two categories:
Group B: Std 5-7
Group C: Std 8-10

  • Competition completed
  • Two Students per Category per Institution are permitted to participate in this Event.
  • A picture will be published on our Website for 2 hours (from 10:00 am till 12:00 noon on 05.10.2021). Participants shall observe the Picture.
  • Mention Your Registration number on Top Right Corner of First page of A-4 Sheets.
  • Participants are required to give title to the picture (max. limit 5 words) & write a story on white A-4 sheets (not less than 80 words & not more than 250 words) based on their Picture Perception in good handwriting.
  • Scanned story script in .pdf format (Mobile scanner apps can be used) shall be merged and uploaded on our website portal (Link will be announced later) in the allotted time of 2 Hours. No additional time will be given for uploading story script.
  • Story shall be meaningful, creative, unique and practical. Superficial characters such as Superheroes & Aliens shall be avoided.
  • Plagiarisms (copying from other sources) will be checked & copied stories will be rejected without notice.
  • Selected stories will be published on our website/in-house magazine and during Valedictory function of World Space Week-2021.

Time: 10:00 Hrs - 12:30 Hrs (Submission deadline extended by 30 minutes)

3. Spacekid (Fancy Dress) Competition :

The competition aims at bringing out the awareness of space activities. In this activity, the children can portray / enact space related activities, personnel like well known Space Scientists, Astronauts, Objects like Artificial Satellites, Launch Vehicles, Celestial objects like planets, comets, natural satellites, Space Stations, etc.,

Who can attend: This competition is open for the children in pre-school, pre-nursery, nursery (LKG/UKG) and 1st std and 2nd std.

  • Competition completed
  • Participation is through Registration only.
  • Children shall talk about their dressing theme for up-to 1 minute including their self introduction like Children name, School, Class, etc.,
  • Recorded video of 1 minute shall be sent by whatsapp to 9483913802 on or before Oct 04,2021, 02.00 PM.
  • Both Audio and Video Shall be clear without background noise.
  • Both Audio and Video shall be from participating student only. Voice over from others is not acceptable.
  • Selected video's will be displayed at URSC World Space Week Webportal on Oct 06, 2021.
  • It is deemed that parents / Guardians have expressed their un-conditional willingness to share uploaded videos in URSC's World Space Week Web Portal.

Last date and time for sending the Video: Oct 04, 2021, 02.00 PM
Display of selected videos: Oct 06, 2021 from 02.00 PM to 05.00 PM.

4. Space Quiz :

The quiz competition aims at spreading the information on space and its applications to children. The quiz questions will be mainly from Space Arena covering space science, Astronomy, Space Scientists, Space Missions, Space Applications, Space Technologies, etc.

Who can attend: Two participants per school (5th to 10th Standard)

  • Last Date & Time of Registration : Oct 04, 2021 at 11:00 Hrs.
  • Students will participate individually and not as team.
  • The quiz will be conducted in two rounds (Preliminary Round & Final Round).
  • The participating student shall posses a Gmail ID to participate in Google forms and same shall be given at the time of registration.
  • Participants shall posses an internet network connection capable of interacting with the quiz portal.
  • Participant shall be alone to avoid any interference from others while participating in quiz.
  • Participants selected for final rounds should have microphone and video camera to enable real time communication during the quiz.

Preliminary Round :Oct 05, 2021, 5:00 pm - 5:15 pm.
  1. All registered students can participate.
  2. Link for the online quiz will be sent to the registered Gmail ID

Final Round : Oct 07, 2021 at 10:00 am
  • Selected (6 to 10) students from Round-1 will participate in this interactive session.
  • Selected students will be informed on 6th Oct 2021 using Gmail ID and mobile number provided at the time of registration.
  • The final round will be held using Blue Jeans Application.
  • Live streaming of the event can be seen at URSC WSW Web portal/Social Media.
